“I Remember Better When I Paint,” an internationally noted documentary narrated by Olivia de Havilland, shows how the arts can enhance the quality of life for people with Alzheimer’s. After the film viewing, Berna Huebner, writer, co-director, and founder of Hilgos Foundation will speak about the film and take questions. Berna’s mother, an artist who resumed painting after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, is featured in the film and demonstrates the possibilities of creative experiences for those living with memory loss.
This free event is open to the public and part of The Creative Center’s national training on creative aging, funded through the National Endowment for the Arts, the Fran and Otto Walter Foundation and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
