The creative arts can change the quality of life for sufferers of Alzheimer’s disease. This is the message of a documentary film by Islander Berna Huebner, to be shown at the library at a Brown Bag Lunch on Friday, July 23, at 12:30 p.m. Although Alzheimer’s is incurable, the arts have been shown to engage areas of the brain not affected by the disease. The new film “…shows an entirely new pathway for engaging with a loved one you thought was lost,” said Gail Sheehy. Bring your own lunch to this event; drinks will be provided by the library.
